HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR BELOVED DANCE STUDIOS

30 YEARS CONSERVATORY DANCE // 25 YEARS LOVELAND DANCE

The Greeley Studio Story
Conservatory Dance Studio

The Conservatory Dance Studio was established in 1993 by Administrative Director, Linda McSwain and Artistic Director, Jeffrey Marc Rockland. The studio began the summer of 1993 with one main studio located at 2666B 11th Ave, Hillside Mall-Rear (behind the Conditioning Spa). In 1994, a group of investors purchased the Conservatory Building in Historic Downtown Greeley and a complete renovation was underway to create professional dance studio rooms, a dance retail store and additional space for tenants.

A teenager at the time, Katie McSwain was the first dancer enrolled at the Conservatory. During the early years, Jenni Burns (Leinweber) worked as the Conservatory's Office Manager while attending college in Greeley. Later, Jenni teamed up with Linda and they opened Loveland Dance Academy.

The Loveland Studio Story
Loveland Dance Academy

The Loveland Dance Academy was established in 1998 by Artistic Director, Jenni Burns (Leinweber) and Financial Advisor, Linda McSwain. The Loveland studio began on July 1, 1998 in Historic Downtown Loveland, located at 126 W. 4th Street (the corner of 4th Street & Garfield).

In 2002, Katie McSwain joined the team and became an co-owner along with Linda and Jenni. In 2009, Lynda Davis was hired as a financial advisor for the Loveland studio (today she serves as the CFO). After 15 years at the location on 4th Street, the three partners made plans to move to a bigger facility. In 2013, a downtown building was purchased and complete renovation occurred to make room for a larger, high quality dance studio space.

FUN FACT: All three owners have a daughter and a son; all of whom have danced at their studio.

After operating for many years as separate businesses, the Greeley and Loveland studio merged into one business in 2012. Combining the talents and versatility of the teaching faculty and administration, more opportunities opened up for dance families to attend classes and perform for both studio locations.

Since opening, the studios have nurtured many fine artists who have been accepted to prestigious programs such as The EDGE Scholarship Program (Hollywood, CA) Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive, esteemed university dance programs and professional dance companies. Others have gone on to work for Disney, Las Vegas shows, cruise lines, professional sports teams, and various modeling agencies, in addition to becoming teachers and choreographers of their own.

Over the years, the studios have produced an annual Spring Showcase, ongoing full-length ballet production of The Nutcracker, a series of holiday shows, summer productions, breast cancer benefits and an elite competitive dance team. The strength of the two studios working together has created a flexible and favorable dance experience for enrolled students.

The three women business owners have been journeying together for three decades.
